When the LA wildfires broke out, we were able to launch straight in to action getting two veterinary team members on the ground in California. We carried out an initial 4 day reconnaissance, visiting the many shelters and teams requesting support to ensure funds were utilised in the most impactful way possible.

There was a great need for specific items of hardware that had been damaged in the flames, repair works, manpower, veterinary help and medical supplies. As such our support was tailored to this. Being veterinary technicians, our team members were able to provide support to veterinary clinics, and shelters, as well as getting hands on helping, rescuing, distributing supplies, and caring for animals. We were able to fly to LA in with a large volume of donated supplies that were posted to us from Worldwide Vets supporters in USA, including flea and worm treatments, leads, toys and creams to treat burns and wounds that were the main focus of emergency veterinary care.
